something’s up!
I got a new work! I got a new work! I got a new work! I got a new work!!!!!
I am realllyyy excited about a new “job” I have been assigned to. A friend of mine is starting a blog with 3 of her other friends. It’s gonna be based on their life - the cliche “single in the city” theme. She gave me a brief on everyone’s personality. And I have got to make illustrations for them - for the blog header!! (Yayyiee!!)
In the beginning, I had decided to make it totally in Photoshop. It took a lot of deleted files and a lot of photoshop work for me to realise that it simply won’t do. There’s only so much you can make with a mouse in photoshop. I had to take a fresh approach, probably in a manner I normally don’t work.
So then, I sketched one girl at a time. On paper. Then I scanned the image, and colored it, tweaking here and there. I am still not happy with her eyes..but still, it’s satisfactory for now.

bookmarks for a bookworm…
I LOVE books. Don’t we all? Have no idea how I would have survived without books to fall back upon. They are your company, your solace on lonely nights and rainy weekends, your guide when life is a bit rough…
So well, I had to make bookmarks. These are for a very dear friend, as a birthday gift.
I made these flowers in CorelDraw. Printed on normal paper. Tied with ribbons and fabric. ![]()

back into creativity
I have been away and back. Away and back. It’s like somebody gave me a box of colors to play with, and with time I forgot that I was supposed to play with them. I became too serious. Like everything else.
So I’m trying to sit up again, instead of letting myself and all the creativity fade with time and too much of phone.
In order to get those grey cells rolling again, in order to motivate myself enough to find those elusive water colors and struggle with clay, I need to make a few changes in my life.
- Read more creative blogs / e-books, albeit one at a time. And not worry about how little I know.
- Make my room more open, with more space. It is next to impossible, but well, what’s the harm in trying?
- The time I spend waiting for phone calls / making calls, will now be utilised in doing anything creative. Anything. Even a doodle, a few lines would suffice.
- Instead of re-reading Sherlock Holmes, I should try to read books / articles I usually don’t.
Wish me luck! ![]()
