Pottering about…
February 19, 2008
I bought this plain white food tray from a local flea market, at very cheap rates.
The moment I had seen them, I knew I had to buy one and try my hand at painting it. And I was in such a hurry (as usual) that I didn’t use any stencil, or any rough pencil sketch, but started painting right away with a brush…

See! But it was not-so-easy as the height of the rim of the tray (I guess you cal it rim, right?) was too much to make the painting easy; or I should have been left-handed!
So I just painted it upside-down lolz
Here’s a close-up of the painting, and only in that you get to see how much ou-of-practise I have been

I love this. It’s simple and not too gaudy. Did you put anything over the paint to seal it so the design doesn’t chip?

It should be fine for decorative use.
Any good clear varnish could seal it if you want it to hold up- can’t tell if the tray is plastic or ceramic, so be sure to get a varnish for the right material. If you want to put food on it, make sure the varnish you use is safe to eat off- the label should say so.
